The Edge has 160K miles on it and the pump is leaking out of the weep hole, but no coolant in the oil yet. I'm going to go ahead and replace the pump and was wondering if the cam sprockets should be changed at the same time. I wonder about this because everything I've read about the Cyclone is that if the water pump didn't fail, there would never be a reason to open the timing cover.
EDIT: should I use just Ford parts or are aftermarket pumps OK?
Right now the plan is to replace the pump, actuators, timing chain, and guides. Any advice appreciated.
