To deactivate the annoying foot operated liftgate on my 2022 Edge, I disconnected one of the two single wire
antenna leads on what looks like the unit that controls this. It is located on the drivers side underneath the rear bumper.
As I intended, the liftgate still works using the power buttons, but no
longer closes unintentionally, and I no longer get crashed in the skull when the liftgate suddently closes on me.
I'm wondering if anyone sees any problem with leaving that wire disconnected permanently? Also, I'm
curious as to why I only had to disconnect one, and not both, unless perhaps one is a sender to the sensor, the other a
sender for the key fob.
